First Off, let me say the visuals are AMAZING with two capitol A's and the controls are passable, with only the magic system giving me any kind of gripe. The story however, falls on it's face out of the gate by being the generic fantasy story of 'Bright eyed poor kid has great tragedy and spends life fixing it, while simultaneously saving the earth yada yada.' The fact that Lionhead was able to squish it into less than 10 hours was admirable, but left it feeling rushed. The game play is standard adventure/rpg fare, I.E. doing lots of quests to level yourself up or gain moneys to buy expensive items to kill baddies easier. While I expected this, I hadn't expected working for hours on end at a dead end ((Not To mention Fictional)) job to get the cash I needed to buy said items. Combat has the same description as the controls, with the Melee feeling as useful as ever while Magic usually falls by the wayside and Range fits neatly in the middle. But lets get on to the one thing that caused more rage than anything. THE DOG. I'm quite aware that his main job is to help search for gold, but when I'm having giant rocks thrown at my head by a PO'd Rock Troll, I don't want to go digging for Condoms. And helping the fight is out of the question. Even at the highest level of fighting skill, he stood by and barked about a rusted out necklace buried a few feet away. But lest make this nice an simple. In the End, if you liked the Original Fable, your going to like this game, maybe to a lesser extent as I did, but that's up to personal opinion. If not, I suggest hitting a local game retailer and picking up Fable: The Lost Chapters. Hints and Tips Write Your Own or View All 5 HintsMake lots of cashHint by Duradin on January 10, 2009 | report this hint To make a lot of cash (mostly for a new file), simply look for weapon sales. When you first enter Bowerstone, the blacksmith has a weapon sale. If you 'butter him up' by getting him to like you, you wil lget an even bigger discount. Start buying his low price items and sell them to the weapons traders in Fairfax gardens. Once you make around 10k, start investing in real estate, and if you want to be good, keep the rent at 0-20. Hope this help :D Related Games |
